Frequently asked questions
How do I accept or reject a Watch punch?
Open the Watch punch on Home. Accept unchanged details directly, or adjust them with a correction reason and review the confirmation before accepting. Reject asks for a reason, then acknowledges the saved rejection. Rejected punches stay in History with the original time and reason and do not count toward hours. When rejecting a Watch punch, the choices name the actions, such as Only clock-out or Clock-in and clock-out. What will happen shows every punch in that shift with its time, category and Keep or Reject status before you confirm. If the punches must be rejected together, the screen explains why. Enter one required reason. Group confirmation lists the affected records, preserves the original shift in History and leaves other shifts unchanged. For a saved Watch clock-out, review the suggested existing open shift and its clock-in and breaks, adjust the actual clock-out if needed, and enter a correction reason for changed details. Accept confirms closing that existing shift without adding another clock-in. If no shift matches, you can accept only the timestamp without adding hours, or supply a missing clock-in. Pending conflicts open Review Watch punch; the app explains any remaining overlap or open-shift conflict and keeps the capture saved. The original Watch timestamp is retained.
How do I add a missed shift?
On Work, tap Add hours manually. Choose the date, enter Clock in and Clock out, select a category and add optional notes. Use Add another row for another interval, then Save hours. Check any existing hours for that date before adding duplicates.
How do I record paid breaks and lunch?
For manual entries, expand Breaks (optional) and add each break with its start and end. Tag each one paid or unpaid and indicate whether you used a time clock. Paid breaks remain included in worked hours; unpaid breaks are excluded.
What if my shift crosses midnight?
Clock-out can be on the next calendar date. In manual entry, an earlier clock-out time is interpreted as the next day and its date is shown. Review the date before saving. Recorded timestamps are not rounded.
Does GPS clock me in automatically?
No. Open Settings → Saved time clocks → Add time clock. Stand at the clock, capture its GPS location and save. Nearby reminders are optional and permission-dependent. For a saved clock, confirm that your swipe was accepted and enter its displayed time. Choose Manual / no saved clock to enter work time without swipe confirmation. New punches default to the last saved clock used; you can change it. If a reminder does not arrive, you can still record the punch manually.
How do I compare a timecard or pay stub?
In Compare, start a new comparison and select images from Photos or images and PDFs from Files. You can add multiple attachments, including punch records and a pay stub. Review each record, check dates and hours against the original, and edit before saving. Use Editing record to switch between reviewed records. Each reviewed record saves as a separate comparison so its totals are not added to another source. You can also enter totals manually.
How is School different from Work?
School is a separate clinical-hour log with its own categories and totals. Log your clinical time there; GPS time-clock reminders apply to Work.
Where are my records stored?
Records and selected reference images are stored in the app on your device. Apple backup behavior depends on device settings. See the Privacy Policy for details, including Google SDK collection during sample/test advertising.
Can I use Apple Watch?
Yes. Install the companion app on your paired Apple Watch using the Watch app on your iPhone, then record a clock-in or clock-out. Open the iPhone app and check Punches from Watch and Latest punches for the original time. Review missing details there. If delivery is pending, keep the devices connected and confirm receipt on the phone before recording again.
How do I add a category or time clock?
In Settings, type into New category and tap Save settings. No separate Add category step is needed. To save a clock, use Saved time clocks → Add time clock while standing at its location. Use the bottom navigation to leave Settings.
How do I import my schedule?
Open Schedule and choose Import schedule screenshot. Supply the shift hours, then check every recognized date, year, category and time before adding it. Calendar shift codes may contain letters and numbers; numeric staffing counts are ignored. Recognition can miss entries, so use Select dates to correct the review.
How do missed breaks work?
Configure labels, minutes and paid/unpaid status in Settings → Break types. When flagging a missed break, enter the number missed. Those minutes are kept in a separate missed-break hours bucket for later review. They do not add work hours, deduct time or calculate pay.
How much does it cost?
The download is free, with no subscription. Version 1.1 uses Google sample/test ads while real production advertising is disabled. A one-time Remove Ads upgrade is planned, but public purchase availability has not been confirmed. See the Privacy Policy for provider collection and privacy choices.
Report an issue
Note the app version and build (from Settings or TestFlight), your iPhone model, and whether the Watch was involved.
Describe what you did, what happened, and what you expected. For a Watch issue, include the capture time and what appeared on the phone.
Email support, or use TestFlight’s feedback option if you are testing an update. Remove private clinical, payroll and location details from screenshots first.
Review any attachments before sending. Do not delete the app to troubleshoot saved records; contact support first.

Help test new versions
Before releasing an update, I test it with a small group through Apple’s TestFlight app. Testers get new versions free while actively testing. In return, I’m asking for real use and feedback about what works and what doesn’t.
How it works
- Install My Nursing Hours through TestFlight, a free Apple app. TestFlight build notes identify when Google sample ads and Remove Ads sandbox purchases are enabled. Test purchases do not charge you. The public App Store version 1.0 remains ads-off.
- Try your normal recording and review tasks. Compare app totals with your original records and report confusing or incorrect results.
- Install new test versions when available and read their What to Test notes.
- If you stop testing for about a month without feedback or opening new versions, I may make room for another tester. TestFlight builds expire after 90 days and may be replaced sooner.
- Testing has nothing to do with ratings or reviews. You are never asked to leave a review in exchange for access.
The current testing guide explains what to try and what still needs checking.
