SkyHigh BakingRoadmap
SkyHigh Baking adjusts recipes for baking at altitude and explains what to change and why. This roadmap shows what I’m working on next, what’s planned, and what I’m still exploring.
I may change the order as I hear from bakers. If something here matters to you, tell me. I don't want to promise dates; I'd rather ship each update when it's ready.
Coming next: 1.1
In progressThe first release includes bake photos, printing, and careful typo correction. Version 1.1 adds an owner-managed Favorites catalog with separate staging and production review, US or metric recipe measures, guidance for cooking at altitude, a way to read converted recipes on Apple Watch, a feature-request email, a private staging review flow for recipe suggestions, and conversion between the altitude a recipe was written for and your baking altitude.
Try a recipe before you buy
A useful App Clip trial is planned for 1.1. Open an approved publisher recipe, enter your altitude, and review adjusted ingredients, oven guidance, steps and explanations before buying the full app. After trying a recipe, you will be able to choose whether to continue in the full paid app. The App Clip is not available yet, and no launch date is promised.
Owner-managed Publisher's Favorites
Favorites will come from a public recipe catalog hosted on 5280labs.app. A private editor will keep staging separate from production so recipes can be tested before they appear for everyone. It will provide separate Ingredients and Directions fields, plus optional Notes that appear with the recipe but never change conversion calculations. After review, the owner can push or update a production copy and choose when it appears in Favorites. The app will download recipe content only; recipe conversion stays in the app. Cached and built-in Favorites will remain available offline.
US and metric recipe measures
Choose US customary or metric measures across the app. The first choice follows your device region. Ingredients will convert between volume and weight when a reviewed, ingredient-specific measurement is available; oven temperatures follow the same choice.
Cooking at altitude
Get practical guidance for foods like eggs, dried beans, grains, vegetables, and braises, which can take longer to cook where water boils at a lower temperature.
Send a recipe to Apple Watch
Send a converted recipe to your paired Watch to read its ingredients and steps offline while you cook. Conversion and recipe editing stay on iPhone.
Request a feature
Send a feature idea to support@5280labs.app from inside the app. Nothing leaves your device unless you choose to send the email.
Suggest a recipe for Publisher's Favorites
Submit a saved recipe with a required contact email and optionally its first photo. The suggestion enters a private staging review queue; it is not published automatically and never changes production on its own.
Convert recipes written for another altitude
Enter the altitude a recipe was written for. SkyHigh Baking will adjust from that altitude to yours, up or down. Publisher Favorites use their tested altitude automatically.
Planned after 1.1
On the listThese ideas follow 1.1; their release versions have not been assigned.
Your recipes on all your devices
Your saved recipes and photos will sync between your iPhone and iPad through iCloud. You won't need another account, and I won't store them on my servers.
Exploring
IdeasThese are ideas I'm still figuring out.
Reviews and sharing
Rating Publisher's Favorites and sharing converted recipes. I need ways to report and block abuse before I add either, so they're further out.
Importing recipes from websites
Paste a link to a recipe page and have it pulled in and converted, instead of copying and pasting the text yourself.
If you already own it
Have an idea?
I read every email. If there's something you wish SkyHigh Baking did, or something on this list you'd like sooner, send it to me and say a little about how you'd use it. Real examples help a lot.
